LCD module backlight identification

What type of backlight is this? Where to buy replacement?

Electroluminescent (EL).

Pretty much obsolete nowadays due to LED backlights.

Keep in mind these EL backlights run from high voltage AC, so a LED retrofit would require removal/bypassing of the high voltage EL driver circuit.

These are not high voltage devices and they have a known life time mesured in hours

Look on eBay thre are listings for the supply of them

By "these are not high voltage devices" you are referring to the  EL-Replacements website linked above or i did not understand you correctly?
They seem to me like a direct replacement.
