Looking for a power switch, how is this switch type called.
« on: December 02, 2025, 05:53:39 pm »
I am looking for a power switch as in the attached picture.
I have seen it many times (probably threw away many as well  >:(), so it is quite common.
Any idea how such a switch is called and where to get ? Tried some searches on Ali, but without luck.

Look at this thread from two days ago - could be a good starting point?

Look at this thread from two days ago - look familiar?

That doesn't have the fixing bracket, the one directly attached to the switch, not the aluminium angle bracket.

It's possibly a variant of the NE15 switch made by ITT Schadow, these seem to made by C&K (part of Littelfuse).

The OP also didn't mention what it's from, not helpful for the next person searching.

Back in the 80' they were always present as mains switches in Tv-sets. Marantz, HK, Pioneer and other used them in HiFi components too.
As mentioned, Shadow was one of the mfg. The other known is Lorlin. Series 8000

Thanks for the tips.

The switch is from a R&S SMR20 RF generator.
I forget to mention, but the thick aluminum mounting bracket is not part of the switch.

The switch one from AliExpress misses the metal tabs, so it will be hard to mount.

I did some searches on the NE15 switch and it looks quite similar, but lacks the mounting tabs as well. However for this one the size
seems to match, so it might be possible to swap the mounting part (assuming I can find one)

Looked to the thread of the Agilent MM as well.  This turned out to be an NE18 switch and the datasheet from  C&K also show mounting brackets.

It seems I have enough information to find something suitable  :)
