Looking for FET to replace UTD405L for toy tractor
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:22:25 pm »
I am helping a friend repair a remote control toy tractor.  The motor was burned out and we replaced that.  When we tested it was apparent by magic smoke that a FET was blown.  The markings on it are :

UTC
UTD405L
57OHCQ

This looks to be the device http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/454611/UTC/UTD405L-TN3-R.html

I have tried to find a replacement for it unsuccessfully.  Would anyone here be able to suggest a suitable alternative?

I am attaching a picture of it as well.

thanks

Anything P-channel in TO-252, >30V Drain-Source Voltage , RSDon <40 milliohm, >18A Continuous Drain Current  and gate capacitance being lower to slightly obove 1nF (probably won't matter if there is no PWM).
For example these would do:
