Miele Induction cooktop repair KM5731 error 32
« on: July 17, 2021, 07:49:41 am »
The cooktop would frequently turn off when turned on and give error 32. Once it had decided to play nice and was powered up it cooked as usual.
i found some repair info for it online and it worked a treat. Essentially there were some bad capacitors. Added own pictures

I probably should still replace the flat flex cable that looks a bit burned. Its working fine. As I don't have one / know the part for know I just swapped the cable with the cable on the other side of the board in order to get more life out of the parts.

for anyone attempting a similar repair a few tips: don't touch the white circles, the bus bars in where the power connects to the board need removing to remove the pcb.
I personally decided to go with this capacitor https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/aluminium-capacitors/7621689/

The cooktop is powered by at ATMEGA32-16AU which features 4 PWM channels, 8 channel ADC (for temperature sensors, reading feedback to determine if there is a pan etc, inductive button interface)
