Nexus 5 front cam socket brocken and gone forever

this is what i found, while taking apart my phone to see what's wrong with the front cam

why?? just why?? and how?!

Did you rip the socket straight out?

Dropped, and the mass of the camera module and socket ripped it off the PCB.

It won't be an easy repair, but probably still could be done with careful manipulation under a microscope.

i guess, it really happend while dropping it once.... unlikely but not impossible
fixing it is impossible. only some of the traces are left on the pcb. and just 2 or 3 of them are on the visible layer....

and yep, i don't need it since i don't see the point in selfies

They can be pretty useful to see the back of awkwardly placed racks, computers etc.

Fixing is possible (have done that) but takes a lot of time, needs microscope and a lot of tiny stuff soldering skill .
