Siemens EH631bE18E induction hob (SOLVED)
« on: September 26, 2018, 01:22:15 pm »
Hi, trying to fix it. Got it with problem that it trips breaker when it's plugged in to mains.. Found 2 IGBT Blown (RJH60T4) replaced those and it came to life.
Problem is if you don't set anything to cook it jumps in to showing weird thing.. "0" and "flipped 9". But if you set to cook fast (until its not in that weird mode) then it's working as ir should .. all 4 zones working and water gets hot..

Checks manual for it but it not saying about those symbols anything.. (there is only other fault codes) but non of them match..
I uploaded video how it behaves when leave it to "0" (zone off)
Maybe someone know what is it? :)

Just a few thoughts:

Are both power boards supplied? Could you have misplaced a bus cable between boards?
Try using a decent power plug and earthing the hob.

Also measured that resistor (R108) is it normal that if drifts with temperature that much? when heated its around 400k.. when cooled down its 382k (even don't know if such nominal exists)

Found something about "e0" in another forum. It seems to indicate a defective power-stage. Probably looking for that you'll find some more information. At least in German "siemens induktionskochfeld fehler e0" google showed several hits.

The soldering on you showed seems not original and a very poor job. I wouldn't wonder if the solder joint of C2 is actually not good at all (as of open). Also the solder-paste(?) remains to the upper right don't look promising that the person who did this know how to rework this. Also the soldering on R108 and also at the big cap to the left looks odd from what I can say. Can you re-solder these parts? Also clean the board afterwards to make sure there isn't any flux and remaining solder paste.

Thank You TwoFlower looks like found description of that fault

"e0 The input relay on the ELIN is faulty.

This error is displayed when it is attempted to close the relay by switching on a coil.
1- Switch off and on again to see if the fault is resolved.
2- Replace the ELIN that corresponds to the fault location.

This can be shown on the display if we supply power only to a specific burner.
Instruct the user to switch off and on again and to reset the mains supply."

Now need to find which relay that is.. and strange is that if turn on any hotplate it works..  only shows those when turn off all hotplates.. and it shows that fault for all 4 plates.. also i can hear relays clicking when turn plates off.. but maybe one of them are stuck.  ???

Good news :) looks like it realy was relay.. that main relay which switches main power feed to bridge rectifier.. and it was with stuck contacts :)

Want to thank again TwoFlower.  :-+
