Siglent SDG 1025 schematic diagram (or what is the U63 chip)
« on: September 09, 2018, 09:31:08 pm »
Hi guys.

I am looking for the schematic diagram for the Siglent SDG 1025.
Or, does anybody knows what kind of IC the U63 is? The letters on top does not give a hit on Google.

Thanks in advance, Peter

Here's a teardown thread of the SDG1010 that shows the same HW as SDG1025:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/siglent-sdg1010-function-generator-teardown/

But where's U63 ?

Can you post a pic of your PCB ?

Can you maybe post a picture where we can actually read what is on the ic?

I took a peek inside my SDG1005. It looks like U63 is a HC14, a hex schmidt trigger logic chip.

You are my hero!

Are there different versions of a HC14 or just one size fits all?

Thanks again.

We are close guys. I have a better picture now.

commongrounder has a HC14, mine looks really like a HA14. Is there any difference?
And any idea where i can buy that HA14? Google is not my best friend in this.

I am from the netherlands.

HA14 and HC14 are both hex schmitt-trigger inverters. They have slightly different cmos characteristics, but function identically in most circuits. I’m guessing, due to this part’s proximity to the crystal, it functions as part of the 10Mhz time base oscillator. The other numbers on the chip are manufacturing and date codes, and will vary on a replacement part.
What specific problem are you having that has you looking at this chip? :)

They are all 14 pin, check the package type by comparing all measurements.

Yes, my fault. Thank you guys that you help me so much.

Mine was exact 5mm, so its the TSSOP

While you have it open, you could upgrade the oscillator to a TCXO: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/siglent-sdg1025-ribbon-cable-connector/msg1721600/#msg1721600

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for all who helped.

I bought the HA14 IC and did some micro soldering.

The unit is working fine again including the TCXO modification.

Thanks again, Peter
