SMD Component Identification

Hi friends... I have this microchip part on a repair I am doing and have no idea what part number it is. tried contacting microchip and they haven't got back to me. anyone any ideas?

Likely a custom part number. Probably a pre-programmed (mask ROM) version of one of their 8-pin PIC micro-controllers. Microchip does offer such a service.

Without knowing anything about the rest of the circuit surrounding this IC, that's my best guess.
