I have a working 555 that needs some cosmetic work. Do any of you know of a paint code for the cabinet.

Apparently the Tektronix part number for a can of Tek blue spray paint is 252-0092-02. You could still order them up to 2005.
I don't know about today.
There are also many archived discussions in tekscopes.

That is the place to check!

Take a panel down to your local Sherwin-Williams or Benj Moore paint store and see if they can match up a low luster enamel. Probably the easiest and cheapest route.
Auto paint stores might be another option.
One problem I've had with custom color matching is they won't mix up less than a gallon (in the bad old days when nobody cared about VOCs, you could get a quart of lacquer mixed up for under $20)

med5763 in the US uses Krylon Gloss Bahama Sea aerosols as a Tek blue equivalent.
He even sprayed an old Heathkit scope with it !

Thanks for the replies. I've seen a number of substitutes flying around, but was hoping for the real deal. Anyway, I'm not making a certified restoration so close will be good enough.

Oh the can I pictured is the real deal, that's what I got from Tektronix with that part number. Apparently you can call the number on the can to order that directly. It's the number for Sherwin Williams.

I think someone on the tekscopes group.io had some made up a while back and there was something like a group buy.
Maybe ask on that Group.

Also see
previous thread
. Williamsburg Blue is the color name that I've always heard, but a search doesn't reveal much except threads like these.

I have bought the Tektronix spray paint back in the 90's. I also have purchased and used the Krylon Bahama Sea blue. The Krylon is more glossy, but the color is a perfect match. It all depends on your finish preference, matte or glossy.
