Broken Rigol DS1052E power switch, replacement?
« on: March 13, 2012, 03:01:52 am »
When replacing the fan on my Rigol DS1052E I forgot to remove the power switch cap before taking off the back cover, and the shaft snapped in half.  >:(

I'm having a hard time finding a suitable replacement, any tips on what to search for?

The specs I'm looking for (correct me if I'm wrong) are SPST, through-hole, angled switch rated at 250VAC, but the only thing I've found so far is this (no stock)

Here are some pictures of the PSU PCB and switch, any help is appreciated.

Two-component epoxy resin adhesive is not an option, should all else fail?

Similar thing happened to me, I desoldered the switch and the internals of the switch come apart pretty easily by prying the retaining tabs. The plastic shaft had broken. If I had superglue I would have used that but I ended up just welding it back together with my soldering iron.

If that is for a full scope it's quite cheap  ;)

I did the same mistake now 9 years later, I found a good replacement switch "KDC-A10-1-C" which can be found with ease on both ebay and aliexpress. Just posting in this old thread if someone else encounter this issue and is looking for a replacement switch.
