Casio WV-200E-1AVEF vs. Casio G-Shock GW-M5610
« on: December 26, 2019, 11:49:10 pm »
Hello, I would like to buy a durable radio controlled digital wrist watch. Should I buy Casio WV-200E-1AVEF or Casio G-Shock GW-M5610? Or any other model? I think that only Casio produces this kind of watch.
Is the tough solar useful? I have seen many reviews on youtube and people were quite happy with G-Shock GW-M5610.
Amazing machines. https://www.youtube.com/user/denha (It is not me...)

I have a WVA109HA that I wore every day for three or four years.  I would still be wearing it if the band hadn't wore out.  I should really get a replacement strap, the Casio doesn't seem to use the standard attachment. None of my twistoflex bands seem to fit.

It's really great knowing what the precise time is.  In my work, it's great for spotting an untrained clock such that the problem can be resolved.

I've had a WVA106HA for must be 8 or 9 years now. It's very similar to SpecialK's in that it has hands and the small digital readout at the bottom, but it also has a small window showing a 'receiver dish' which flashes when it updates. I'm on my second watch strap now, the first broke about 18 months ago, and it cost me ~£12 for a replacement. I've only replaced the battery once as well!

Regards,

Sarah.

I have the GWM5610 watch. Best bang for bucks.

Solar rechargeable battery, multiband 6, 200m water resistance.

I have the watch time synced with internet time every night. You can find the source code here https://github.com/hzeller/txtempus
