ES121 Electric Screwdriver Insomnia

I bought an ES121 electric screwdriver about six months ago. I got a lot of good use out of it, but its sleep function recently stopped working. The OLED display never shuts off. It stays lit until the battery runs out a day later. This makes it much less useful. Has anyone else encountered this?

Hopefully this is just a configuration issue and I can poke a setting somewhere.

Barring that, another hypothesis might be that the accelerometer got noisy. I don't notice any degradation in the twist-to-activate functionality, so I have my doubts.

Barring *that*, hopefully this is a rare problem and I can just buy another. It's a lovely little device, but not so lovely that it makes sense to buy one every six months, so I'd want to hear positive anecdotes before doing that.

I almost bought this thing like 6 times but I was suspicious
