KSGER T12 black tips v.s normal ones?

Hello, I wonder if the KSGER T12 black tips v.s normal ones. Is there difference in quality or is it marketing only?

US $9.86 vs. $3.81 - this some difference. Is the black tip 3x more durable???

I am also curious about this.  Quicko/Quecoo sells these as XA but also a TW series from Taiwan.  Both descriptions above claim premium construction, XA is apparently mainland sourced.

Interesting the first link says thicker iron plating, the second link says normal tips are too thick and it has thinner plating (0.5mm).

I have one Ksger black used daily, heater coil resistance is closer to a genuine T12 (~7R). The generic tips tend to be ~8-8.5R.
Although I haven't had any problems with regular generic tips other than one DOA.

If you are a hobbyist I would just get a selection of the regular clones, then if one dies from use or has any issues, replace with genuine T12 or taiwan type.

Never used them but I've seen a lot of feedback like "expensive crap with black paint which peels off after few uses".

Just like there are better quality generic tips, I'm sure there are actually better/improved black tips. You just don't know until you buy and try because you can't ever trust counterfeiters to sell you the same product twice.
IMO if you're going to spend 10$ for a "high quality tip" that's most likely a scam, you should buy genuine Hakko.

Well, you know how the saying goes: Once you go black, you never go back!
But for reals, I've never used a black T12 tip, so I can't tell you whether it lasts longer than the regular ones or not, but what I can tell you for sure is, that you can get cheaper black ones of the gudhep brand:

Yep, clearly simple marker or paint, at least seller is honest enough to put the real pictures and show how bad they are so you don't buy it

They're around $5 each for the domestic Chinese market and marked up for export sales. The actual price difference between these and the normal tips is like $2. There shouldn't be a huge difference since Taiwanese labor is more expensive to begin with.
