Most common & new soldering iron tips? Compatibility

Okay, so I want a newer model iron soldering station (with hot air gun), but first I want to know what kind of soldering tips are out there right now.
Like Weller's have their own standard, right? Only their soldering tips are compatible with Weller stations, correct?

What about Hakko? That seems to be popular, are their soldering tips compatible with other stations'? What's the most common soldering iron tip that's unlikely to be replaced by newer version in the next 10 years?

T12 tips are pretty popular for Hakko irons and the many clones, I have a ksger soldering station that uses t12 tips.  You definitely want an iron that uses tips where the heater is in the actual tip and not in the iron like the t12.
