There was a discount on the LG AN-WL100 wireless HDMI kit, so I got one. After tearing it down and playing with it, I decided to get a few more as they're clearly very useful.
The chipset used is the AMN2120, which is rather interesting in that it's available in medical grade. Clearly the protocol must be well designed and very robust! It supports up to 1080p60 in the 5GHz band and the quoted latency is less than 1ms.
The schematics for the motherboard in the base unit can be found online and it runs Linux. Rooting it is reasonably easy with a serial cable and LGMOD_S7, although I haven't yet found anything interesting to do with root. There's a lot of room in the base unit which opens up a lot of possibilities for some DIY projects.
How do you think, it is possible run one transmitter with two receivers in the same time? How pairing is work?
How big in this? I would want the transmitter end to be small so you could have it be semi portable. The TV end wouldn't matter. Does it have a SMA or connector for an antenna?
The whole unit is about the size of a DVD player (pretty much just to fit all the connectors), but the transmitter board is quite small.
