Why do temperature adjustment lockouts exist on soldering stations?

So soldering operators do not adjust controlled process without notifying anyone.

To an extent, but I think mostly for ISO9001 probably

same here, the sales engineer's task is to sell most soldering stations to factories for operators to use. but operators wanted speed to finish and produce more work. eventually losing quality... they introduced lockouts.

there is one hakko soldering station that has a plastic key. eventually the operator managed to push a piece of cardboard to defeat it. -_- operators will think of anything to defeat that lock.
