Baofeng UV-9R Plus modifications
« on: January 29, 2023, 03:47:29 pm »
I've read a lot about various UV-5R modifications, so I decided to disassemble my UV-9R Plus in the hope it was only a rebranded UV-5R.
It is not, board is entirely different. I've enclosed some pictures of it.
Anyone modified this board?

Hi,

What do you want to modify?

The Baofeng radios hardly comply with amateur bands as they are. Also, they have lots of unfiltered harmonics.

You should be aware of what you are doing when modding these devices.

Also, any reported frequency enhancement through hacked settings will only display the out of band frequencies, but you won't be able to use them.

Kind regards,
Vitor

Being a Chinese cheap radio, whatever enhancement it can have. I'm sure lot of people have been playing around with it and enhanced it.
I don't use it for traditional ham radio, just for hunting (a set of 12 channels in the 2M band).
I don't have any measurement tools except a Surecom SW-33 and a PS200.

"12ch in 2m band" - are you a licensed ham operator?
When not licensed do use PMR radios, good for hunting too..

I'm a registered member of the Hunters and Shooters Association, which has a license exception for the 12 channels.
