Great Lakes Agreement (GLA) radios now on 4 year inspection

Greetings marine radio operators!! If you were operating an inspected passenger vessel (NON-SOLAS) on the Great Lakes you were subject to the 13 month inspection cycle. The GLA agreement with Canada has ended and any radio which had a valid inspection in place on 11/2/2022 or since that time is now granted a 48 month (4 year) inspection cycle which begins on the issue date of the current valid inspection. ALL SOLAS vessels will remain in the 13 month inspection cycle. The good news is spending $100.00 to $300.00 every year will now be once every 4 years for many operators!! Cheers mates!!
