Hi All,
I am trying to find a replacement of connector assembly . At first glance, I thought its a common 7/16 connector to N male But this connector really looks odd. Please help me to identify this:
Here is the a comparison with all other high power connectors I have at hand.
Thanks
Maybe it is custom made. What is it from?
Hi! It looks like a side for cable assembling. Do you have a mating part?
I'd agree it looks like a cable mount connection. Fingers on the inside of the center contact are to slip over the conductor without having to solder to it. (I've done 7/8 heliax, and soldering the center conductor to a contact involved a heat shield for the dielectric, and a torch.)
With some sort of clamping/retention mechanism for the shield missing.
This connector came attached together with a dismantled UHF antenna 225MHz to 400MHz. It was installed on a naval ship. The contractor who dismantled the antenna, must have had removed it on the wrong end instead of removing the N connector. Apparently the cable being used is corrugated type. Cable mount connection, makes sense. Let me see if I can get picture for the mating end.
