Using NRF24L01+ as a spectrum analyzer
« on: May 19, 2024, 02:59:07 am »
Hi this is my first time posting so apologies if I am not up to standard!

I am trying to make a 2.4GHz radar and looking at using the STM32L4 as a controller to the NRF24L01+. I am looking at the MakerFocus 3pcs NRF24L01+PA+LNA Wireless Transceiver that uses the NRF24L01+ and was curious if there is a way to get the raw unmodulated sampled signal from the NRF24L01+? Or if just using the Received Power Detector (RPD) but is enough for something like this?

Thanks!

1) No.  You can not get the raw unmodulated signal.

2) I have never been able to get the received power level to work.
Following the RF24 library sample code for the Arduino never worked for me.
Don't know what the trick is.

3) The nRF24L01+ will not work as for radar.  It does not detect itself.
Even if you used two, the power detect is line-of-site between them.
There is no bounce/echo detection as you see in a normal radar.
