For precise measurements of small inductances using the resonance method, it is necessary to select a measuring capacitor according to the given method. The values that need to be paid attention to are underlined in red. I selected from several hundred SMD and film capacitors.

P.S. High resolution file, transfer to your computer to view.

Hi. As several people mentioned in this thread I get horizontally reversed display image on my clone meter when trying to use the Rev804En(8x15)16Mhz from the indman's download resource -- "M328 WEI M8".  Can someone compile and put for download the 16 MHz firmware, one push-button only, and with correct for these displays setting. Any hints for activating calibration mode on this version are also welcome. In case there is an earlier versiion already compiled would you point it to me? Thank you.

With the settings specified, you can only make this version...

In most cases, putting the 3 clips together call the calibration wizard.

I knew that but that became possible only with version 1.13k that Yuriy compiled specifically for my case. The version from indman's resource was poorly configured.

This time just a few improvements.

v1.56m:
- Option to skip first probing after power-on when in auto-hold mode (UI_SKIP_FIRST_PROBING, suggested by Bohu).
- Updated Makefile to use avr-objdump instead of avr-size to show firmware size (avr-size lost -C option).
- Fixed V_BE issue in BJT output for some special Darlington pairs with B-E resistors (reported by Yuriy_K@EEVblog).
- Added option to auto-trigger RCL monitor when an R, C or L is connected to probes #1 and #3 (UI_PROBES13_RCL, suggested by indman@EEVblog).

Please download at:
- https://github.com/kubi48/TransistorTester-source/tree/master/Markus (soon)

I changed "avr-size -C"  to "avt-size --common" - it is working too.

I don't quite understand what the point of this option is? If you need to quickly access the main menu, there is already an option UI_MAINMENU_POWERON_BUTTON

If you have an older version of avr-size then keep using it (therefore it's still in the Makefile, just commented out). Newer versions dropped the -C option.

Yes. The output with the old -C option is a bit nicer (includes percentage).

Some users prefer to power on the tester, then connect a component and run the probing cycle. The automatic first probing cycle is a kind of nuisance for them.

Controversial logic. But does religion not allow them to connect the part before turning on the tester for the first time?  ;)

Probably indman only let the option in the menu. Perhaps you can double click the button to access it.

Hello,

I'm new here and have already read a lot of posts.

My LCR-TC2 is unfortunately defective. :'(
A stupid mistake, I didn't discharge the capacitor during a measurement. From what I could see, the Atmel 644 is defective.

I can solder in a new 644, the hardware is there.
Is it possible to program a different 644?
Even to install a different firmware. Are other components perhaps defective?
Is there a howto online that I can read?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi, there are ISP pins at the top edge, so that shouldn't be a problem.
You'll need a programmer, though, like USB-ASP. Regards

OK, that's no problem.
Which programmer would you recommend and
which firmware is compatible with this LCR-TC2?

I've been trying to compile the necessary files, but I keep getting errors.
I'm not very experienced with this.

Does anyone have suitable *.hex files for my TC2 with the 644?

Thanks a lot!

I'm having trouble getting the bootloader for the 644pa to work with the Arduino setup.
I'm using an Arduino as an ISP, but it only has a 328p Atmega bootloader in the Arduino IDE.

What can I do?

The Transistortester doesn't need a bootloader.

Using an Arduino as ISP programmer:
- take an Arduino and flash the "Arduino ISP" sketch (Arduino becomes an ISP programmer)
- wire the ISP (six wires from Arduino to Transistortester)
- run avrdude with the Arduino as ISP programmer and flash the Transistortester firmware (firmware and EEPROM data) to the Transistortester

BTW, there are tons of guides on how to use an Arduino as ISP programmer.

It might also be useful to tell him the settings for the fuse bits.

The 644 doesn't have a bootloader, so it's a new replacement
because the old one was damaged by a power surge.

Using the Arduino as an ISP works, I've set everything up.
