Hi everyone,

I recently acquired an Agilent E5070B ENA (300 kHz - 3 GHz, 4-port version), but unfortunately, it came with a completely dead hard drive. The unit is stuck at the logo screen and I have no recovery media.

I am looking for a working HDD image or recovery ISO for the E5070B or E5071B (B-series).

A few details about my unit:

    Model: E5070B

    Config: 4-Port

Current state: No OS, no backup of the original calibration data (files were lost with the old drive).

I am aware that I will lose the factory calibration constants, but I am looking to get the unit back to a functional state so I can perform a User Cal and use it for my projects.

Does anyone have a copy of the recovery disks (P/N E5070-60001 or similar) or a Ghost/Acronis image of a working B-series ENA? I would be extremely grateful for any help, a download link, or even a pointer to where I can find the software.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards, Thomas Corano

I have a 4 port E5071B here but it's probably best you wait a while longer for someone with an E5070B.

My E5071B HDD has C: D: E: and F: on it and E: is the recovery drive. This E: drive has various folders and files including a big GHO ghost file about 800Mb in size.

There's also some cal files on the E: drive and a 'recovery' batch file to kick it all off using ghost.exe (included). I've attached the recovery.bat file if it is of any interest and I've renamed it to a .txt file. It shows the recovery process and is well commented as it progresses. For a barebones recovery to a similar HDD I think only the E: drive contents are needed. But I might be wrong. Hopefully someone here can provide the E: drive contents from an E5070B as it will also have the cal files for the E5070 rather than E5071.

If you have somewhere online I can transfer my E: drive contents but probably best to wait a while longer :)

Hi GHZU,

Thank you so much for your help! I would be extremely grateful if you could share the contents of your E: drive (including the 800MB .GHO file and the recovery scripts).

Even though your unit is an E5071B, having a working "B-series" system image is a huge leap forward for me. I can use Ghost Explorer to look into the image and manually extract the drivers or the VNA application if a direct restore fails. It's much better than having a completely empty drive!

I have prepared a Google Drive folder for the transfer (I will send you the link via Private Message to keep it private).

Please let me know if that works for you. I’m ready to start experimenting as soon as I get the files!

Best regards,

Hi Thomas
I've copied the E:\recovery folder to the google folder. It is for the Win2k OS. Let me know if you need anything else. I assume it regenerates the autoexec.bat and config.sys in the C: drive. Good luck, hope it all works out OK!

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your help and all the valuable advice in this thread!

I managed to sort everything out with the unit, get the system up and running, and even made a proper fresh backup image for the future.

Best regards,
Tomek
