465B with or without DM44?

Hey Guys,

Curious about your opinion. 

I can buy a Tektronix 465B with the DM44 (+- 125 EUR).  But im not sure,  which one would be better?  With or without the DMM?

Im in Europe, you can buy off eBay from US, but shipping is expensive. In Europe there a bit more hard to find.

I have a Tektronix 465B without the DM44, good Scope but really old. 125 EUR seems expensive for a complete unit let alone the DM44 option.  In my opinion if it is for work it needs to be much much cheaper than a new Rigol (or similar new scope) to be worth buying.

I have a Rigol (MSO2xxx). I'm looking for a vintage scope. The 465B is still wanted. And they are sold (today) for well over 200USD (incl. shipping). So im not sure if 125 EUR is to much. However. my concern if it would be more desirable to have the one with the DM44 option or not.

OK,I understand. I am amazed as to how much a 465B costs. I was told to watch out for dodgy VOLTS/DIV switching. A Tek technician said that they were a reatively common failure item. I can't answer the question about the DM44 option.

Yes this one has also the DM44 installed.

I'm not crazy about, but for this price, Couldn't resist.

I have a 465 with the DM44.  Works fine but I have a stack of Flukes so I find I rarely use the DM44.  The 465 is my favorite analog scope.

I like the DM option because a) it makes the 465 into the coolest looking scope ever and b) you can read the delay time on a digital display instead of trying to read a 10 turn knob.  As far as using it as a dmm, meh, not so much.

I have to agree, and I love Tek 46x series scopes.
Love my Tek 466.

   The picture from the cute 567 ist a direct link from Kurt ( the Tek Wiki), not my own Tek. Enjoy reading Tek Wiki, and do not wonder it is also full of pictures from my own collection 
I would like to buy one of this 1000$ oldies. But it is very rare, the last I have seen was destroyed by Audiophools.

Even if you never use the DMM part of the DM44 option, one nice feature is that when using the Delay control for the delayed timebase, the DM44 digital readout is used to read the delay, rather than using the multi-turn counter knob on the non-DM44 equipped units.
