Agilent 16702B doesn't recognize HP optical PS/2 mouse
« on: Yesterday at 03:59:03 pm »
I know the 16702B is picky with respect to which type of mouse works, but I thought an optical HP model from around the same era might work. Unfortunately it doesn't, the pointer doesn't move a pixel, clicks don't register. The mouse does get power, the optical sensor is illuminated.

I was wondering if there were some logs on the analyzer I can look at to figure out what might be wrong.

I do have the pull-ups installed on the interface card and a PS/2 keyboard works for the most part (except for the CTRL-key).

An alternative might be another model. Do any mice that are not the HP C4728-60101 work or does it have to be that one? I seem to remember CuriousMarc used a Compaq. Could be mistaken.

Maybe it wants to see a 2-button mouse. I used an HP C3751A ballmouse on my 16702A. It might be the same as the Logitech M-S34 which was rebranded as Compaq, Dell, AST, etc. On the 16702B, I just use the touchscreen. If you want to go on an adventure, I guess you could use kdb to look at the variables in the ps2 driver?
