Agilent 54624a any good?

i have the opportunity to buy an Oscilloscope Agilent 54624a in near mint condition. any opinions about this model? it is better than a tektronix 465?


any comments will be really appreciated.

The difference between the 54622D that is the subject of that video and the 54624A you are asking about is that the 54622D has 2 analog channels plus 16 digital channels, while the 54624A has 4 analog channels and no digital channels. Both are 100 MHz, 200 MSa/s, 4MB sample length scopes.

thank you, the asking price is approx 150 usd, the main use will be for analog and audio stuff. i wonder if the tek 465 is a better equipment despite the cursors and readouts in the agilent.

As a first or only scope, I'd go for the 54624a every day of the week. IMHO analog scopes are more pleasant to use. There are however things you can do with a digital scope that an analog scope just won't do, such as looking at slow or one-time events and looking at pre-trigger signal.
The 54624a also will do automated measurements for you, it has much more capable triggering than the 465 and it can do FFT - it's not super-awesome, but it does it.

I have a 54622D, and while my Tek 2467 is my favorite scope in usability, I can say I don't hate the usability of the 54622D. It drives pretty much like an analog scope...
