Beckman 3020 resistance readings off
« on: October 06, 2019, 09:43:16 pm »
I have a Beckman 3020 DMM that's reading about 1 ohm high. I've tested different probes, cleaned the jacks with Deoxit, checked the precision resistors inside (they're within spec), and next plan to carry out the calibration procedure (feed 190mV DC and adjust the rheostat to match while set to the 200mV range). What else am I not thinking of?

When you short your probes together, what do you get?

1 ohm high when measuring what?  1 ohm high when measuring a 10 ohm resistor?  1 ohm high when measuring a 100 ohm resistor?

It's behaving now, though I'm not sure why. I did notice that the negative battery wire had a bad solder connection to the double-sided board.  :-//
