Paid with PayPal, got cancelling letter (2 acctually) and decided to choose refund. Nothing received so far. I'll give them a day or two

It appears they are pulling a scam/marketing trick, and it's in our best interest to inform eBay of this seller's activities, or to warn those after us not to purchase from street-autoparts. I do have the opportunity to leave feedback, shall we all slam them with negative feedback? Ask for a proper cancellation? How can we band together and drive this home? Their misdealings and general honesty should not go unpunished.

Filled "Report a seller" on com.au site.
Seller is not honouring contract, does not state reason for a cancelled order, seems to publish misleading information about stock level (stock was 2, then 0, then 2, 0, 2, etc. - some 30-60 orders total with "actual" stock of 2 made). I have suspicion that actual stock was 0 all the time.

I share this opinion. If they just would have send out a message (using eBay messaging rather then directmail), explaining they had a automated eBayscript screwing the pooch and offering products at invalid prices. And provided refunds (the correct way, using eBay). All would have been fine by me, no hard feelings.

But the story about no longer being manufactured (which is BS, Keithley still produces them, several large distributers still have them in plenty of stock),
The fact they are still (at this very moment) selling them (for 10 times the price at Farnell...) on their eBay account, and the way of refunding stuff directly and thus bypassing eBay, so all of us will end up with unpaid items in your accounts. Is together enough to really really wind me up

Report seller to eBay. Citizens of AU could also report suspicious selling practices on local eBay site of this business entity to local authorities if there is appropriate laws for such cases.

The leave feedback link is still working for me. I don't know what the implications of filling this in would be (for the buyer). Maybe it would imply to eBay that the transaction was completed, which makes it impossible to cancel the order, for example. But, just noting it's still there.

So now I have gone and tried to re-pay the items (they attempted the refund trick) and they are trying to "charge additional fees".  This is going to get ugly.  As I said yesterday, this is a scam to try and sell PSU's OFF ebay.....I am contacting ebay and possibly legal council.  These guys are about to deal with the ramifications of pissing off a bunch of engineers

I should have written "Report a member". Go to eBay.com.au "Help&Contact" -> "Contact us" -> "Reporting a member" -> "Reporting a member" -> "Email us" -> email

I got notice of a refund but not actual refund. I did not accept conditions of neither of those two options.

Interesting idea. I have already send a report, but I am not that familiar with eBay.com.au system and AU laws. Can somebody from Australia look into this?
I would write 1) seller breached contract, 2) actual issue/problem is not disclosed, 3) strange stock numbers (2, 0, then 2 again?), 4) refunded (probably) but eBay shows unpaid item - what is this mess?, 5) message to personal email (check spam folder) with some about lack of supply. All in all, strange seller activity, possibly against eBay rules.

Just got off the phone with ebay customer service and fraud departments.....the seller is obligated to fulfill the contract =) 

They are either going to ship us all PSU's or get shut down.....I will be contacting legal council to see if there is a way to force them to honor the sales contract.  This is why I ordered $2 grand worth of them, I have a case.

I urge you all to call ebay and do the same as I did.  I doubt we will ever see PSU's (never thought we would), but this "seller" is toast

Hang on, some of us here took a chance to capitalise on some guys mistake and now we are all supposed to try to hang him out to dry... on the charge of using automated software no less!
Regardless of the legal situation:
(A) There's not a chance in hell they ship a single unit no matter what anyone does, given the number of units sold here they would be better off shutting up shop.
(B) Some employee is running round trying to mop up a mess, why make things any harder for them?

It was a long shot, a cheeky attempt to take advantage and it hasn't worked. No need to waste any more of anyone's time . So long as I get a refund I consider the matter closed.

In UK law a contract can be voided if there has been what is obviously a mistake from either party. I've no idea what the law is in Australia, which is where I suspect jurisdiction would lie. Going legal should always be the very last resort in any situation, and in the UK a judge will look very poorly indeed at anyone who refuses to negotiate before taking legal action.

I'll keep emailing them for another day before heading down the report to ebay.au route.

I agree that the seller doesn't have to "burn", but in my opinion there is a line between a pricing error caused by a bot, and a deliberate email containing nothing but lies. A line the seller clearly crossed.

(Product is end of life, it's in backorder, we will deliver at 10% discount when available again, etc..). All of that was clearly just a poor excuse chosen by the seller to use, instead of "we messed up the prices, our apologies and we refund (the correct way) immediately no questions asked."

Instead they communicate outside of ebay with dodgy url's, refund the wrong way causing unpaid items at alot of people, still offer the PSU but at 100 times the price (wasn't it EOL according to them?) and don't seem to admit they were wrong.. There should be repercussions for this kind of behavior on eBay. (Like a official warning from eBay or such)

You obviously don't understand what is going on here.  Read the entire scenario before making assumptions.  This is an obvious scam.  They sent money back to us, left the items as "unpaid" on ebay, and are now trying to charge "additional fees"  when we try to repay.

Don't you dare try to say I am initiating a witch hunt.  This isn't some humble guy just trying to make a living.  This is an obvious scam, and I plan on taking all action possible to combat it.

It is not a legally binding issue IF the seller just states they made a mistake on pricing and submits an official cancellation request, through ebay.  It IS a legal issue when they lie in an unsolicited email to our personal email accounts, refund the money paid, and leave the items as "unpaid" on our ebay accounts.

Ebay rep said ebay supports my actions against the seller.  I urge others to do the same.  These ebay bot scams should be confronted.  Is it worth my time, financially?  No.  Will we ever get Ketithly 2000 series PSU's?  NO.  However, from a moral and "what's right" standpoint, I feel it is my duty to spend the time to combat such fraudulent activities. 

It's my time, my money....if it makes ebay a safer place (even just slightly) then I feel I have done a good deed.

It was obviously an error. Attempting to persue it is just greed bordering on fraud. There is no way anyone can claim to have really lost anything, or to have had a genuine believe it was genuine.
