Brymen BM869s no longer reading AC voltage

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a recent issue that I've come across with my beloved Brymen 869s, of which, I keep in a hardshell case all of the time, and pamper quite frequently - though for some unknown reason, my meter suddenly refuses to read AC - DC, is fine, frequencies etc, but anything AC, and the meter just seems to go into a sort-of endless loop of trying to read.

PS, I tried turning-off auto, and selecting fixed decimal points, but the meter won't read anything, ie, displaying residual values in 4th digit range type thing

I suppose I have a few questions:
What are you trying to measure?  Photo of your setup?
Do other AC functions work, such as mV or current?
