Electronic load with no user interface
« on: January 15, 2025, 09:05:55 pm »
I asked this already in a different channel but didn't get much for replies.  Maybe this is a better channel to ask.

Does anyone know of any companies other than AstrodyneTDI that make electronic loads that are meant to go inside of a product and not be user accessible?  Astrodyne has one part that I can find and it is model SDL1040A.  I'm not sure if you can even buy it and it doesn't hit the voltage range I want (450V+).  It is rated for 1500W which is about what I'm looking for.

I want something that only has a remote control interface (serial, Ethernet, USB, etc...) and no user interface or displays.  For context the product being built is an industrial battery charger/discharger and this would be used to discharge the battery and would go in an enclosure with the rest of the system.

Aliexpress has a some modules like this under the SOUSIM brand. Up to 500W with RS-485 interface. Finding all the documentation and/or example script is a challenge though.

Thank you for responding.  This is the type of thing I'm looking for.  The only downside is that it is from a questionable source and I can't design it into a product that I need to manufacture for the next 10+ years.  I'm kind of surprised that this isn't a product that is readily available from a reputable source.  I guess all of these chargers with built in dischargers are just designing their own loads?  I could do that but I'd rather not since that will take a lot of engineering effort and my volumes probably don't justify it.
