Correct me if i'm wrong, but based on the many reviews i saw, the continuity beep on the 2D15P has a nasty contact and release delay to it, and no beep on the diode mode. This is a big deal breaker for me personally.
The continuity delay is 50ms (1/20 of a second). I would not characterize that as "nasty". It's fine for most people. If you are spending 8 hours a day running your probes down long lines of finely spaced contacts as quickly as humanly possible, it might not meet your needs. If I were in that position I'd probably not be looking for a bargain basement unit and go for something a little more professional.
It does not beep for diodes. I can only speak for myself on this, but I don't care about that as I'm usually looking at the meter to see the forward voltage drop.
The only other multimeter with responsive continuity beep and diode beep is the UT161E which i was consdering.
Are you suggesting that the TMP-600/DM40 and the UT161E are the only two meters in the world with a "fast" continuity response and a diode beep? You can't be serious.

I couldn't find an equally responsive replacement for the DM40 that also has the diode beeps.
We still do not know what "responsive" is. Care to give us a figure? Or are you just going by what someone on YT has said?
You are free to suggest any similar or better at the same price or less if comes to mind.
I'm not really here to advise you on the cheapest meter in the world that ticks all your "bench racing" specs. As for mentioning the 2D15P, I was just making a comment in response to someone else WRT FNIRSI making a whole pile of these 3-in-1 devices and expressing that I thought the 2D15P was the best of them. I was not suggesting you must buy one. Personally, if you were in serious need of those two life saving specs I'd advise the BM786. It costs a bit more than this, but I don't think it's much more than the UT161E. Beyond that, if you don't want a 2D15P, don't get one. Problem solved.
Maybe you can be the first to get a TMP-600 and let us all know how it works.
