@pcprogrammer thanks for the info - hopefully FNIRSI (and all others in this space) will come to understand that providing support and firmware updates for their products is the exact thing they need to do, to increase sales on products like the DPOX180H. For the money, it is honestly a nice little machine that is let down with some firmware limitations. If these were fixed, I'm sure the sales would grow!

I hope that @Yangyao can see past the negativity in some of the posts and take the constructive criticism from all this, because for a single person it's an outstanding effort what he has done IMO, but the lack of ongoing firmware updates / support are the issue for FNIRSI sales at present... Hopefully the DPOS350P won't go the same way as the DPOX180X.

@DavidAlfa - just a quick THANKYOU for your work on the Hantek DSO2D15, which I also own and I have referred to your information many times to improve mine. Cheers!

I think this is going in the wrong direction.
It is a fiery market, and technology is changing fast.
That means devices will get the character of being thrown away after some time: the companies are not there for you, but you are there for them. If you want more enduring support, there will be a premium on the price.
That decision is entirely yours, but you must factor it in when you are searching for what is best for you.

I completely agree.
While most people here have a (technical) wishlist and some even think they can make development decisions, those (small) companies offer one shots which come at a low cost.


If that doesn’t suit you, you will have to adapt your budget (choose one of the bigger players).
But don’t be so naive thinking they are there for you.

My bench contains a few brand new pieces of gear, where a single software license alone can cost more than these FNIRSI units combined! This is not about choosing the right product for my budget. I buy this cheaper stuff because I enjoy messing with it. My comment about firmware updates comes from my observation that FNIRSI are marketing themselves more aggressive (better?) than they used too (other than the specs lies that are still creeping in! 16bit? lol). That combined with the statement they made about not selling enough of the DPOX180X. I believe if the firmware support was better, even with a higher price point, they would do better.

16bit more like average to display a nice signal, meaning what you see is more like a lie

I really like your scope, and I would have bought it already, with one limitation. I mainly need an oscilloscope for audio work, which means I need FFT as well as bode plot functionality down to DC. I was wondering why this model was designed to have those functions start at relatively high frequencies?

My guess is Low Memory Depth meaning it must drop Sampling Rate to a point where it can't capture enough data to display a real signal, it will miss details in the signal.

To install the firmware, enter the "System" menu and enter the "USB connect" mode. A new drive will appear in File Explorer (Windows). Copy the .iso firmware file into the root of this drive. Power the scope OFF then ON again, and it will automatically detect the new firmware file and install it automatically.

A matter of design. Using 5 Volt allows only to charge batteries with a lower voltage. Otherwise extra electronic with a
step up converter (?) must be in the circuit. If more power is required, the batteries are stacked and therefore need 12 Volt.
Not a big deal, zillion of USB power supplies deliver voltage according to QC standard (QC 2. and above). Most of the time
they are fited with orange sockets - and the QC voltages are printed on their covers too.

Most vendors tend to go around Qualcomm QC standards.. as it is a properietary charge standard that costs money to implement, while fx Power Delivery (PD) is free (open standard)

That is usually the claim, but it's a little more detailed.
with PD, its free in regards to pr unit royalty-fees, but I believe you need to be part of USB-Implementers Forum [USB-IF].. that comes with some annual fees for the USB-IF membership. 6k $, plus another 3.5k $ if you wanna use the USB LOGO.

So for small batch production.. Qualcomm's Quick-Charge protocols, and pay royalty-pr-unit.. can perhaps be cheaper, not least if it's on some of the older legacy variants of QC.

Agreed that this design is annoying, tried few USB power adapter with “orange” QC3.0 which neither works.

  orange color is not the QC standard. Try to read what it says on the fine print on the power supply.
If it says QC and lists 12V all fine - is that so difficult ? You try to operate a 2 Ch 300 Mhz scope with FRA
and other bells and whistles, but you stumble over such simple issues.

In addition to verifying that the charger for the DPOS350P is capable of supplying QC 12 volts,
a USB cable equipped with data lines is required. Cheap "charger cables" often provide only
the two wires for 5-volt power and lack the necessary data wires.

For 12-volt operation, Quick Charge 3.0 (QC 3.0) will configure the data lines to 0.6 volts,
which signals the power supply to output 12 volts instead of 5 volt on the power wires..

Hello yangyao.  Thanks for extending the FRA to 10 Hz.  Some other changes that would be nice:

1/ correction (inversion) of the phase plot
2/ expand number of log cycles graphed: 10, 100, 1000, 10000
3/ employ waveform averaging (user selectable?)

I decided to scrutinize the accuracy of the Fnirsi Bode plot.  I increased the frequency count to 500 and used the cursors.  Rather nice!

Sloooow at 500, BTW.
