How to detach LCD FFC cable from Rigol MSO8104 mainboard?
« on: May 12, 2026, 03:08:57 pm »
Hi,

I need to replace the encoder pcb in my Rigol MSO8104 but to do this I need to first remove the mainboard that covers it.

However I can't do this until I release the flat flexi LCD cable from its 45-way CVILux connector on the mainboard.

It isn't obvious to me how to release the cable, can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Do I pull the black section outward? Does it hinge upward?

I don't want to force it, it cost me too much to get this wrong.

Photos attached - the connector is bottom right on the mainboard photo; also a close up shot of it.

Does EEVBlog Dave know? Has has torn one down.

Rgds

i think its the one you pull up while rotating  connector, not a push lock

i mean the black section is the lever

Push the black lever up to release the FFC.
