WARNING: THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY ! ! ! (yes, really)
NOTE: Without the 298 Mhz SIG ID oscillator hardware, SIG ID AT MKR and SIG ID -> CF functions doesn't work. Only SIG ID function works.

Requirements
1. HP 856xE spectrum analyzer
2. Any GPIB adapter with command console software
3. 4mm HEX wrench

Procedure
1. Turn off the spectrum analyzer.
2. Remove the spectrum Analyzer cover.
3. Set the WR PROT/WR ENA jumper on the A2 controller assembly to the WR ENA position.
4. Turn on the spectrum analyzer.
5. Connect GPIB adapter to the spectrum analyzer.
6. Send the magic GPIB command to the spectrum analyzer.
Magic GPIB command: ZENTID 'HP<Model>,<Options delimited by comma>'
For example: ZENTID 'HP8560E,005,006,007,008'
7. Check the installed options from the spectrum analyzer. All is well, right? ;D
8. Turn off the spectrum analyzer.
9. Set the WR PROT/WR ENA jumper on the A2 controller assembly to the WR PROT position.
10. Secure the spectrum analyzer cover assembly.
11. ???
12. PROFIT!

 :)

No, it's not a separate module. You need SIG ID enabled A15 RF board. Part number is 08563-60134.

Thanks again for the information, I assume there is no way to enable it on A15 by hardware modification except swaapping the board ?

Also, I need more information about the ZENTID command , suppose I have HP8562E with option 008 and I do a hardware uppgrade for some RF components (26.5Ghz RYTHM, attenuator,etc..) then executing ZENTID 'HP8563E' will change the model to HP8563E (-26.5Ghz)?  do I need to execute  ZENTID 'HP8563E'  or ZENTID 'HP8563E,008' ?

Thanks

I didn't try it so I can't tell.

You need to execute ZENTID 'HP8563E,008'.

I'm not sure.
But if the ID? GPIB command returns HP8560EC, I think you should execute ZENTID 'HP8560EC,005,006,007,008'.
