Uh, what a bargain. Perhaps R&S has a gold plated parking area?.  :-DD

I've been in the parking garage of our Munich headquarters many times - trust me, not a trace of gold  :)

Why the secrecy ?  :-//

This one ?

https://www.amphenolrf.com/en-us/part/112640/352/

There is no secret here. It is a custom part make by amphenol but I haven’t found it on the catalog.

Unfortunately no, it is not this reference. I sent them the picture of my part.

I need to pay for a new batch with tooling fees if I want a new one. Price is high for low quantity and I need to buy a least 10 parts. The quotation I have is 325$ for 10 connectors including shipping. The main cost is the tooling fees.

I think I will just use another reference for this repair.

Can you tell me how you lost the serial number?

There are two undocumented SCPI commands related to the serial number.

Displaying the serial number:
  :DIAGnostic:SERVice:SNUMber?

You may enter the serial number:
  :SERV:MODE WEN;:SYSTem:SNUMber:SET ...

The command expects a parameter. Probably a string enclosed in quotes, e.g., “123456”
I haven't tried this command.

I have a stupid question.  8)

With firmware 3.0 we have "gated measurement" in our shiny scope. Two weeks ago I switched it SOMEWHERE to on and it was possible
to do some beautiful measurement. It is a real gamechanger when you use the integrale math function.

But now I like to switch it of and I forgot where I can do it.  :-[ I searched everwhere but I can not find it. The shiny blue area of the timegates are still on the screen.
Can someone point me to the correct menue?

It's right there on the MEASURE menu, "Gate ON/OFF".

There is only use gate and it is off and also gate setup to move the position.

You need to check each of your 8 measurement functions.

No, you have to switch on/off it in one of the eight mathematic modes

BTW: in the mathematic mode you can choose a unit for your measurement. There is a list of units I have never seen in my live before and it is my job to develope measurement devices. But why R&S has no Ws? Okay, there is J, but why not Ws? I wish a new firmware with "Ws". Okay, you can use µkWh.  >:D

Hi all

I often use my RTB for line power measurements, this trace bounce situation can happen with other signals, but this is when I often notice it.

Channel 1 has differential probe connected to measure 120 VAC line @ 60 hz.  Channel 4 has the current probe connection.  I usually view in 5ms time division for 60 hz, triggered from channel one or line voltage.

At the 5ms time base, the blue trace of channel 4 bounces slightly above and below zero volts at a very noticeable rate.  If I change time base setting above or below 5ms, bounce stops.  If I change sample rate from auto to 10 MSa or below seems to stop.

If I turn on channel 3, bouncing stops, and turning off channel 4 and connecting current probe to channel 3 bounce stops.

Full power cycle, hard switch turn off, seems to stop this from happening until I change the time base and back to the same condition.  5ms is the only time division where this seems to appear.

Right now I'm using Firmware 02.202, but this also happens on the newer firmware.  I have of course done numerous self alignment tests with no error.

Has anyone else experienced this, any ideas?  This wasn't an issue in the past.

Thanks
Russell

You mean it bounces around zero when you change the vertical amplification? So wrong offset correction? Welcome to the club....

No.
The bounce occurs with horizontal, time base change, 5ms far as I've noticed.  I don't recall ever overloading the vertical offset, been aware of this for some time.

Hi, can I also have a firmware files please?

I am looking mainly for the v3, but the older may be useful as well.

RTB200x_Firmware_V02.400.zip
RTB24_Firmware_v03.00.zip

If someone would be so kind, I should have emails allowed on my profile, or DM.

There is a new user manual, v15, dated July 27, 2026, for firmware 3.0.
