NARDA 8700 Series Survey System - search for software

Dear all,

I have a NARDA 8700 Series Survey System which consists of:
1.) Electromagnetic Survey Meter   Narda      model #8718B
2.) Isotropic field probe   Narda L3 Miteq      model #8762D     300kHz – 3GHz     full scale equals 200mW/cm2
3.) Isotropic Field probe   Narda L3 Miteq      model #8723D     300MHz – 50GHz  full scale equals 100mW/cm2

The setup is working fine and was last time calibrated in 2018.

The only thing I am lacking is the Windows software which was originally supplied with the set and until 2016
it could be free downloaded by NARDA-STS US. The filename was 8718B_3p2.zip (release 3.2 - 7.4MB).
The program was called "Remote Control Software for 8718B-type Meters" and had the following functions:
- Displays of measuring data in tabular format or as bar graph
- Printout of the screen content
- Export and conversion to other text or table programs possible
- Automatic recording of meter and probe model numbers, serial numbers and calibration dates

I contacted NARDA-STS which seems to be meanwhile headquartered in Pfullingen/Germany and they told me, that they
stopped production of the test eqipment 20 years ago and thus do not provide any more support. Also they told me that
the software was no more available in the company.

Mabe someone reading this forum/blog has a copy of this software or maybe he knows someone at NARDA L3 MITEQ
who could help.

I do not know anything about the meter, but if the protocol is documented it maybe it is possible to make a definition for TestController https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/program-that-can-log-from-many-multimeters/
It can show curves and tabular data.

Hi Joseph,
no, not yet.
But see below someone else has posted a link to some more information and an executable file.
I cannot execute it on my PC (not even in Win95 compatibility mode) but will check whether I can find an old PC with the right operating system.

I did not get the software running here on Windows10 (also not when trying the compatibility mode) but wills search
for an older PC and check whether I can get it working there.

That is a 16 bit software. On a 32-Bit Win 10 you can activate NTVDM. For 64-Bit Win 10 this works great for me: https://github.com/otya128/winevdm

Try running it on a virtusl machine.
You can probably find a windows 95, 98 or XP image on a dlownload site and just install the software.
