This is exactly what you will see with digital phosphor with any brand. Vertical line should NOT show up. That is what you would see in the good old analog days.

So they implemented their digital phosphor correctly.

Nope! the vertical line does show up----it is less visible because the beam spends much less time tracing out that transition.
Wind up the intensity on an analog 'scope & you will see it.

The specifications don't make sense on this. It states rise time of 2.5ns and a bandwidth of 180MHz. BUT a 2.5ns rise time indicates a bandwidth of only 140MHz. Vertical sensitivity looks better than most at 5mV, but then horizontal timebase only goes down to 5nS which is less than half the resolution of similar scopes.

Overall, the number of features looks impressive. Being a Fnirsi, I suspect there were some liberties taken with the specifications.

I asked for a description of the .wav file (the file that contains the data if you press SAVEP.

Answer: "Sorry, we don't have a .wav file, the technician didn't share it with us".

(I'll know that there are some github repo's doing this, but they are not for the DPOX.

So I asked: "Why does your technician not want that the users use the data that (S)He provides?"

I would assume it is the general WAV (Waveform Audio File Format) format.
Isn't it?

Complain about the absence (not display) of the vertical lines of the waveforms.  Is this a bug?

See https://github.com/roberttidey/FNISR1013DScope for a description of. Wav file as generated by a 1013d scope.

Well, you have to crank up the intensity in the old days. With the dpoxh you have to crank up the zoom.

Are there really no other settings so that the waveform in normal mode is completely visible on the same meander without magnification?

Does anyone else have an offset problem with the signal generator output?
My unit got a 300-400mV offset.

Some people complain that you don't see vertical lines with square waves.
What do you think?
Bug or feature?

it depends on horizontal resolution setting. If you're using slow horizontal resolution, the rise edge is too fast, so it will not be noticed. But it will appears when you switch to a fast horizontal resolution, for example 5 ns/div.

I asked for a description of the .wav file

WAV file is a standard container to store waveform data as a data chunks, it also allows to store additional information in a custom defined data chunks. Here is WAV format description: http://soundfile.sapp.org/doc/WaveFormat/

If it supports save to a WAV file it's nice feature, because standard WAV file can be opened and analyzed with variety of software tools.

Just wonder, how much samples it can capture to a WAV file at once?

it seems that you have that FNIRSI DPOX180H device. Could you please share results for some tests? It will allow us to find the actual sample rate, bandwidth, ADC resolution and noise floor for this device.

Please give me WAV file taken on your FNIRSI DPOX180H for the following conditions:

1) open input at max horizontal resolution (just disconnect probe from BNC and take WAV snapshot at 5 ns/div)

2) 1-10 MHz clean sine taken with max horizontal resolution (5 ns/div) with amplitude about 80% from full display.

3) use the same sine and settings as on step 2, but increase sine amplitude 3x times, so that it cannot fit on the screen.

Dear RAPo ! you wrote that you will have a TinySA Ultra - could you use it to check the FNIRSI DPOX180H by applying a rectangular signal at high frequencies from 10 megahertz and above to its inputs, which is available on TinySA Ultra ?

this screenshot shows that Rigol shows large surges on the leading and trailing fronts on a square wave in amplitude almost in the entire cell - but Fnirshi does not see him

Sample rate of 500MHz is less than three times the specified band width.
BAD SPECMANSHIP
For a bandwidth of 180MHz the sample rte should ideally be much closer to 10 x the bandwidth

Can someone take WAV snapshots on Fnirsi DPOX180H with open BNC port and with some sine on input at 5 or 10 ns/div? Please share it here for analysis.

Has anyone found a way to change the signal generator amplitude and offset?
Or is it supposed to be centered around 0V as in the above post and users manual?

Can you try again in DC input mode? Your unit is in AC mode.

Mine seems do not have this problem.
