Seems there's a new LCR meter series available from OWON: LCR2000 https://www.owontech.com/lcr-meter/owon-lcr2000-series-lcr-meter.html

The silly renderings some of those manufacturers publish are astounding. Notice the cut-off buttons on the right hand side and the label "unknown" above the BNC connectors. Based on that, one could think it's fake but apparently Banggood would happily sell it to me (and you) (https://www.banggood.com/OWON-LCR2000-Series-LCR-Meter-with-Consecutive-Test-Frequency-up-to-100kHz-or-20kHz-0_05-pencent-Basic-Accuracy-Fast-Measurement-Speed-Advanced-Interface-Options-Versatile-Usage-p-2015779.html)

With those lottery winnings in the upcoming weeks being a virtual certainty, why not.

I bought an Owon LCR2020

I have pulled the trigger and bought an Owon LCR2020 during the blackweek/cyberweek festival.

The Owon unit is actually made by Anbai/Applent hence even in the programming manual they reference to the Anbai numbers (AT381x) of the unit

I fell for this unit nice it supports variable frequency (so not stepped) and BIAS measurements, that even a lot of the much more expensive units from others do not support.

The built quality of the unit is great, much better as the EastTester ET44 series. Also the specified performance and accuracy is quite impressive 40rds/sec and 0.05% but not at the same time.

The unit came equipped with accessories as Kelvin cables with a 4 pin BNC connector base as well as a component test fixture and a shoring bar. I my box there was no USB cable but a RS232 cable instead, but the unit supports both USB and RS232 so that is not a big problem.

I did not perform a conformance test of all measurement ranges but I did some small comparison tests with another LCR meter (ZXP ZX8511D) which gave me a good level of confidence of my new Owon LCR2020.

I believe that all the units in this series are the same, and that the max frequency is limited by the firmware. In the Anbai series there are some models that only support fixed stepped frequency points but in the Owon series they are all of variable frequency type. Also the BIAS level is variable so not stepped, bonus feature is that you can also set the Amplitude current variable which was not specified in the specification on-line.

Please note that on the picture below the BNC cables are from my other LCR meter so they are not the one that came with the Owon !!

I will be creating a device definition for this series to support automated testing/logging with TestController, since currently a driver does not exist.

Overall I am very happy with my new Owon LCR2020.

This is actually common practice to label it as "Unknown", since it refers to DUT.

This is actually common practice to label it as "Unknown", since it refers to DUT.

Thanks for the explanation. Looks like I'm the one being silly (not for the first time, certainly not for the last time either).

unknown   loll  that's a good one ...

i would be curious  if some cross flash can be done,  but HW platform(s) may have some changes ?

It is a shame that Banggood does not offer this LCR meter anymore.

I wonder if  hp3310a or some other user has bought one and wants to share his/her experience with it.

I bought one too, the prize was to tempting. ;D      I'm surprised about the build quality and the mature firmware.

I have had not much time to test it, but the results so far were nearly the same as with my Fluke PM6304.

Yes it was a very good deal for such a quality device.

Did you hook it up to TestController yet (utilizing my device definition) ?

Below are two impedance measurement results of a LC series and LC parallel resonant of a 7.58mH Inductor and 3.61uF Capacitor. The resolution is amazing !

What is the difference between AT810A and AT3810A ? Cant see differences in the specs.

The AT810A is old and no longer product, its successor is the AT3810A.

Unlike the product page the AT810A does not do DCR or BIAS measurement, at least not the old models (from the Manual, not the website)  Furthermore RS232 or USB was an option on these. For TestController I removed the DCR and BIAS handling for the AT810A.

If you want to buy an AT810A be sure it has the options you are looking for, better to go for the AT3810A.
