Looks like a barely updated SDS1102. But apart from the memory depth, it does not looks like much of an update. If they just want a newer SDS1102, then it is fine, I guess, but otherwise I don't see why bother.

It even uses the same plastic mold for the back cover as SDS1102. They just rearranged the front panel a bit, and made it worse, IMO.

I use SDS1102 as a main basic scope and it is quite good for what it is. It is silent (no fan at all) and boots instantly. The only thing that is really bad about it is the single trigger. Once it is triggered, re-triggering it is a lot of effort instead of a single button press. Realistically, if they fix just that I would really consider getting that. But I really doubt they did, the software looks pretty much the same.

Only on 1kpoint memory ? It has 2Gsps ADC in it or it is just a trick ?

The trigger options are somewhat poor, according to the manual.
Only types: Edge and Video. No external trigger. Holdoff only works from 100 ns.
The competition from Hantek has many more types: “Edge,Pulse,Video,Slope,Overtime,Window,Pattern,Interval,Delay,UART,LIN,CAN,SPI,IIC”.

That seems a bit old-fashioned with the Owon.

The manual says a 2K FFT, so a little underwhelming. The signal generator option look interesting, and the sds210s (100 MHz w/ siggen) is only $190ish on aliexpress. 

I usually use a usb scope because it is quiet and I get a large screen, but if I bought a bench scope it would probably be something like the sds1102 or this newer model as long as it is fanless.

For the complainers:
This SDS210 is an EUR210 scope. So don't complain that it's not the most powerful scope. At least it does not lie as the fnirsi garbage does.

I already have an Siglent SDS1104X-E, and I simply don't want to turn it on because it makes too much noise. I was thinking of buying one of the small Owon handhelds, or maybe the Hantek DSO2D15 (EUR280) simply because it does not have a fan. That new Batronix Magnova thing would also be nice, It's also a budget scope, but only if you have a budget of around EUR4800 in mind.

if you want things quiet - friend has XDS3104AE - fanless, it gets warm but can run all day long no problem (also cheaper models are usually fanless but not 100% certain if all of them)

Hi, I'm thinking about buying this oscilloscope, I'm between this and the hantek (dso2d10), the thing is the hantek seems to be prone to bugs, and seems slow in video reviews, also, the sds210s is cheaper. Has anyone bought it?, and if so, it is slow/fast?, it really supports 100MHz? it has bugs?; if someone can make a small review I'll really appreciate it.

After two hours of testing model SDS215S, I reported the return of the goods to the seller because this is not the quality of the OWON product. A loudly humming fan tires the user, and on top of that, a malfunctioning MULTIPURPOSE knob, which switches randomly during slow spinning - once it changes one position at a time, sometimes it jumps several positions, and sometimes it jumps to the end of the range right away. Setting the choice of frequency, voltage or menu item is very difficult because you never know how the knob encoder will jump. I reported the problem to the OWON factory, they wrote that they will send me new software ;-)) They are making some jokes about the customer ! ! I will never buy anything from OWON again!!

Oscyloskop Owon SDS215S otrzymałem po 16 dniach od zakupu - a miało być 7-10 dni. Po dwóch godzinach testów zgłosiłem zwrot towaru do sprzedawcy bo nie takiej jakości produktu OWON się spodziewałem. Głośno szumiący wentylator męczy użytkownika, a do tego niesprawne pokrętło MULTIPURPOSE, które podczas powolnego kręcenia przełącza losowo - raz zmienia po jednej pozycji, czasami przeskakuje kilka pozycji, a czasami od razu przeskakuje na koniec zakresu. Ustawienie wyboru częstotliwości, napięcia lub pozycji menu jest bardzo trudne bo nigdy nie wiesz jak przeskoczy enkoder pokrętła. Zgłosiłem problem do fabryki OWON, to napisali, że przyślą mi nowe oprogramowanie ;-)) Jakieś żarty z klienta sobie robią ! ! Nigdy więcej nie kupię niczego marki OWON !!
