I've no idea. It makes no sense that one SCPI command would do it, and another wouldn't. Consistently. I also had another command that turned 400u to 399u.  :-//

The reason you even see it is because the device only parses a very limited number of digits, it it parsed the full value (or just one digit more) you would never see it.
But as I already said, I have fixed it in the code. Now TC will always round the last digit and that prevents silly results due to a very small error in the last digit.

Do you have a link for the fixed version?

I guess the CPU based conversion only happens when using the popup? Everything works from the command line:
Code: [Select]
:TRIGger:NEDGe:IDLe?
;; 1E-05
:TRIGger:NEDGe:IDLe .000001
:TRIGger:NEDGe:IDLe?
;; 1E-06

:TRIGger:NEDGe:IDLe 10u

:TRIGger:NEDGe:IDLe?

I was not really planning on publishing it, before I had more, but since you asked I have uploaded it to the same address as the last updates.

I guess the CPU based conversion only happens when using the popup? Everything works from the command line:

Command line do not do any conversion of text, except if it finds ().

Since the conversion is the issue, why not add a variable to bypass conversion and send exactly the value stated?

Because I want the input field to support input formats independent of what device is connected. You can always use SI or exponent in input fields, it do not matter what kind of SCPI device or if the device use binary communication.

Right, I meant in optional variable like :literal: or something so that no conversion is done to the # when the tag is included.

You can do that with a text control, but numbers are controlled so they always are in correct format and hopeful also range when transmitted to the device.

Here's another feature request for you. ;)

I want to be able to group multiple comboboxHot items. For example:
Code: [Select]
#cmdSetup comboboxHot Pattern_CH1 Trigger_Pattern
:read: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN1:PATT?
:write: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN1:PATT (value)
:update: Pattern_Type
:string:
Ignore IGNore
High HIGH
Low LOW
:tip: Select type
#cmdSetup comboboxHot Pattern_CH2 Trigger_Pattern
:read: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN2:PATT?
:write: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN2:PATT (value)
:update: Pattern_Type
:string:
Ignore IGNore
High HIGH
Low LOW
:tip: Select type
#cmdSetup comboboxHot Pattern_CH3 Trigger_Pattern
:read: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN3:PATT?
:write: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN3:PATT (value)
:update: Pattern_Type
:string:
Ignore IGNore
High HIGH
Low LOW
:tip: Select type
#cmdSetup comboboxHot Pattern_CH4 Trigger_Pattern
:read: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN4:PATT?
:write: :TRIG:PATT:CHAN4:PATT (value)
:update: Pattern_Type
:string:
Ignore IGNore
High HIGH
Low LOW
:tip: Select type

In that case, I would like 1 line that says Pattern, then each comboboxHot is CH# [OPTIONS]. So:
Pattern: CH1[OPTIONS]  CH2[OPTIONS]  CH3[OPTIONS]  CH4[OPTIONS]

Thanks,
Josh

Two questions related to:
Code: [Select]
#cmdSetup color _ Page
yellow

1. Is it possible to color only the tab, and not include the border?

2. Is there something preventing this from working on pages with selector based hidden content?

It works fine on the pages that don't use selector to hide content.

One other question:
Is it possible to define how many tabs are on the primary row?

It's a little arbitrary and chooses 3 or 4 tabs depending on the order I put them in, but I would like to make the primary row 6 or 7 wide. They all fit fine, it's wasting space as it is right now.

Another option would be to have a function to set the minimum width of the setup window.

If not possible, then another feature request. ;)

Thanks,
Josh

I do not really know about that, but you can sort of do it already, but without the hot.
Look at the multi control

No, they go together.

2. Is there something preventing this from working on pages with selector based hidden content?

Not to my knowledge, but keep the color tag out of the selector, that will not work.

The actual tab layout is a Java issue, I do not have any control of that (Except if I programmed my own page control and I do not want to do that).

A minimum width would depend on font size (That is adjustable), not really something I want to fiddle with.

Now this thread is a sticky I do not believe a slightly change of the title is an issue anymore and I have made it more precise.
The fact that somebody in another thread said he say the tread and did not look in due to the title, may also have some weight :)

Code: [Select]
Ignore IGNore
High HIGH
Low LOW

Another idea: With only 3 selections, you could also use the ToggleButton to select with.

That's a great idea!

The ToggleButton (especially along with :nogrid:) is by far my favorite feature now for setup. I've used it in place of buttons, checkboxes, and radiobuttons, and it works great and looks awesome. I'll share some screenshots after I do your above suggestion.

Re: the color tag: it didn't work on the pages before or after the selector when the whole page content was within a selector. I moved it to a page without the selector hiding content to test, and it worked fine.

Thanks,
Josh

Can you make the toggleButton support up to 8 items / colors?

I want to make a toggleButton with 5 options, but more is better. ;)

It is easy to adjust the number, but the reason I kept it at four is because I believe pressing more than 3 times to select an option is excessive. I.e. I do not believe more is better in this case.
II may be willing to increase it one or two, but not more.

Ok, 6 is fine.

One other request for it:
Can you add a :fullwidth: tag option that will have the toggleButton divide and fill the width of the open space evenly?

It sort of does it now, but if there's only 1 or 2 buttons, then it leaves a lot of open space rather than filling the width. Leaving it as a tag option is best in case that's not desired.

Thanks,
Josh

Here are some examples of how I'm currently using the toggleButtons and nogrid options.

The Pattern Clock Source functions like radiobuttons, as only 1 can be active at a time. I could theoretically do it with a single button, but that would require a 5th option for OFF but I like it as it is in this case.

BTW- your idea to use the toggleButton for the Patten at the bottom fixed the minimum width for the window / tabs. ;)

Thanks,
Josh

Ok, 6 is fine.

I will do it.

It sort of does it now, but if there's only 1 or 2 buttons, then it leaves a lot of open space rather than filling the width. Leaving it as a tag option is best in case that's not desired.

When grouped, i.e. 2 or more buttons it will use the full width.
When single it will use two columns if it can get away with it else only one. I use that sort logic on a number of controls, i.e. adjusting to one or two columns depending on space.

I supposed I could let it see the :nogrid: tag and use all columns when not grouped?

Here are some examples of how I'm currently using the toggleButtons and nogrid options.

Looks nice.
I wonder about the Probe with D0 to D7, if it is just on/off and the color matches the marking on the probe it is fine, but if the color mean anything else a tip is needed.

As I said above, the modification is very simple.

I have made both, but not tested the 6 item max.

Same link as before.

Thanks! That works, I tried it with up to 5 so far. I think it would be better if the full-width single is optional though (:fullwidth:).

The colors are the default for each channel, gray is disabled. I'll have tips anyway. Almost everything in the definition has tips defined.

Thanks,
Josh

Fair enough. ;) Thanks for making those changes!

Can you please add :nogrid: to the number and numberInt also? The Set button looks a little goofy sometimes. It would be nice to choose how that shows up.

Thanks,

The :nogrid: is the tag to change the layout style, generally it will release one or more elements from the grid and use some other strategy for it.

Can you please add :nogrid: to the number and numberInt also? The Set button looks a little goofy sometimes. It would be nice to choose how that shows up.

What do you mean? Please provide some examples.
Looking at your picture I can see it is very wide, but that is not something I see a reason to change/fix.

Generally I will add/fix/change stuff I agree with and sometimes also stuff I do fully agree with (Like your 6 steps on ToogleButtons).
Your idea for toggleButton and :nogrid: turned out to be very good ideas and I am very happy about them (I know you did not directly post the full ideas, but you posted enough).
