So don't install that JDK at all and its good it seems, not sure about the latest JDK 25, I will test later but expect the same issue.
Does the JDK not contain the JRE components or is it more of a permissions issue?

It's not better with JDK 25. If you want JDK to work, you need to add the line in the batch file, and manually install the version of the serial driver I shared in a previous message. JRE simply works better (and easier) for our needs with TC (at least for now).

Glad you got it working now.

Thanks,
Josh

Dear HKJ, I have created 3 new definitions for temperature acquisition modules manufactured by Eletechsup.

These modules are Modbus_RTU controlled
..,.....
The definitions are:
- Eletechsup NT18B07 7CH temperature acquisition module
.......
This is excellent! Thank you, flash2B. I think I'll buy one.
Well, It would be nice to connect this one too: PTA9B01 PT100 RS485
(Attachment Link)
(Attachment Link)
You can scatter a dozen of these around the house on twisted pair cable...

I have created a definition for the Eletechsup PT21A01 and PT22B01 1CH temperature acquisition modules. These are more advanced as the requested PTA9B01. If you still want me to write a definition specific for that model, I can do that.

It was easy to write using my NT38D01 definition as a template.

Find it attached.

HKJ please add these definition to the wonderful world of TestController.

PS.
I have already 2 test versions of the N4IOA01 (Current) and N4DAC02 (Voltage) generator modules, these I will release later.

New version posted some posts below.

A general question:
How do you get the ET4410 to “talk”?
At the moment, I can only use your program to communicate with the LCR. With programs such as Putty or Tera Term, all I get after connecting is a black screen where I can't enter anything.

You might be talking with it, generally devices are not supposed to echo what your type back to you,

You setup a connection (baudrate, etc.) to the ET4410 with PuTTY. You but "local echo" on in PuTTY. Then you connect to the ET4410. You can then type *IDN? (you will see what you type because of local echo).  When you hit enter (or ; or control-M, control-J depending  on device) the command is also sent over serial to the device. The device will answer with a response that you will see in the terminal window. Only one serial connection is allowed so you cannot use PuTTY and TC at the same time to the same serial device.

Would it not be more logical that the Param sweeper inherits the start and stop limits from the setup menu min and max values of the number control, instead of defaulting to 1.0 and 10.0 ??

Maybe, but I believe not.
Reason: A sweep will seldom have to run from min to max of the device, mostly I expect you will be testing external devices and have to adapt the range for them.

Well, I still haven't managed to receive data from two electronic loads via a single RS485 line. They connect, but when I run a test on both devices, the TC freezes and data acquisition stops.
In a couple of days, I'll receive a second KunKin KP184 from China and try again.
I hope my dream of a 120 Amps  electronic load for 300€ will come true one day.

I understand, but could the value of start and stop be at least be adjusted between the boundaries of the min and max.

In my example the 10.0 is out of bound. So if it is 1.0 to 10.0 adjusting the 10.0 to 5.0 to make it fit.

Set one device to Address=002 (and the other to 001) and modify definition of the 002 device to include an additional line: address 002. Make sure the chain line is terminated by a 120 ohm resistor (if it is a long connection).

Restart TC and try again with the new definition. That is how I understand it might work.

That won't work since you cannot connect twice to the same COM port......  |O

Alternatively use 2 RS485 adapters and 2 COM ports and keep the original settings and definitions and use the advise from HKJ below.

You can use four 30A load each with their own connection to TC, then use "Set multi loads with off" from grid panel "Specific device settings"
It can control any number of loads, because you cannot set a max for each load, it is best with load that are fairly similar in current specifications.

Is it possible to experience a longer delay when executing a command?

1. Switching the device to the setup screen.
2. Starting calibration/setup (~85 seconds).
3. Switching the device to the main screen.

The operation itself is a one-time procedure and is rarely used.

Code: [Select]
:write: DISP:PAGE CSET;CORR:OPEN:EXEC;[*OPC];DISP:PAGE MEAS
:write: DISP:PAGE CSET;CORR:SHOR:EXEC;[*OPC];DISP:PAGE MEAS

During the calibration/setup process, all commands are ignored by the device.
Now you need to manually switch to the main screen.

Code: [Select]
:write: DISP:PAGE MEAS

Could you not just a [85000] at the end of the :write: command  before DISP ? Or change [*OPC?] into [85000] ?

The [9999] delay is a nice way to stop communication, it is limited to 9.999 seconds, but there is nothing preventing using multiple delays in a row.

Hello everyone.
I experienced numerous fails because the ET4510 wasn't recognized by the Test Controller, but after reinstalling Java as JRE, device recognition succeeded.
A huge thanks to KungFuJosh for that advice!
I want to use the Test Controller to collect and check values measured by the ET4510 in real-time, but the Test Controller isn't capturing the Current value.
To investigate the cause, I examined the East Tester ET4xxx.txt file.
While I didn't fully understand all the content, it seemed the #askMode :FETC? section was used to check the ET4510's mode via the FETC? command.
However, when I entered the FETC? command in the Test controller, it only returned measurement values, not the mode.
It seems the FETC? command cannot determine the device's measurement mode.
How can I achieve logging of measurement data from the Test controller?
I've attached an image showing the ET4510's response to the FETC? command.

Did you already use the Mode menu and the Setup menu ? Buttons are on the TestController app.

After setting a Mode via the menu, usually TestController is sync to the correct values in the Current Value tab

Interestingly, control of the ET4510 functions smoothly through the TestController program's Mode and Setup menu. (Device controls such as changing measurement modes and frequencies operate normally.) However, it fails to recognize the real-time measured values, making it incapable of utilizing the Current value and data log functions. Could this be an issue with the ET4510's SCPI Communication Protocol?

Hi HKJ,

I'm  using a frequency counter from TTI mod : TF930. i found your site and informations from you.
i saw some posts about your soft that can manage this TF930. I have downloded the program from your website.
it can run it on an old pc but crach very hard my main PC, no mater.
in this version (dowloaded today 18 feb 2026), i found some TTi products in the list (menu : load device then the list and add). no TF930 in this list.
But in the rep called "Devices", the TTi counter TF930 is present. How is it possible to add the TF930 to the main list in the program?
If you can help me, it will be fine.

Many thanks,
regards
jym

Two possible reasons:
You PC uses a non-supported CPU for the serial library, this may crash TC with using a serial connection (I have no idea if there are any non-supported CPU's, see https://fazecast.github.io/jSerialComm/ for list of supported hardware and OS's, it is fairly long).
You Java is faulty.

It is called "Thurlby-thander TF930", type tf in the filter box on "Load devices" page and press TAB, then it will be the only entry.
