Range switch connections in ANENG AN8001 / Richmeters RM101
« on: February 13, 2020, 02:26:46 pm »
I "hacked" my RM101 by adding a range switch (there are connections for it on the other side of the board), but when I was opening the case, my range switch connectors fell off  :palm:, and now I have no idea where the metal springs should be on the plastic carrier. If someone has the same meter and 5 minutes of time to disassemble it I would be grateful. I tried looking for videos featuring the meter, but they only show the back side.

Thank you, I would not have been looking for a tuning fork video to see someone disassemble their meter.

I'm not sure if that's normal but when switching from ohms to Hz, the mV range shows up in between, same when going from Hz to 10A and from 10A to 60mA.

Probably isn't normal as the ohm range doesn't work, maybe the 8001 and RM101 aren't the exactly same layout.

I've changed the contacts to 001111 011100 (when switch is on the off left position) instead of 000111 111100 and now it works, but there are more switchovers in between.

Joe Smith is "Mr Testers"  :) I suspect he kind of likes these Anengs.

Yep, same here. But you've got to move the dial very slowly to leave it in between. BTW, mine shows ˚C between A and mA ! (but I put the thermocouple and it doesn't work).

Very unlikely, but IDK for sure. Just in case:

Oh, sorry, I forgot to say, the photo was taken in the left OFF position.
