Replacement Part Found for U1253B OLED Screen
« on: January 29, 2017, 03:40:46 am »
For those that have a U1253B with a dead or dying screen, there is a replacement display board available.  :-+ Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than the previous "no repair parts, buy a new one" responses people have received.

P/N = U1253-66007

Hope this helps.

Wonder if it would be possible to simply plug this screen into a 1252b.. In daves teardown you can see the screen is on its own socketed board..  If it's the same dimensions it's probably compatible

Did anyone ever order and test one of these in the old blue meter? Does it work? Does it last? I've got a paperweight here that needs some love.

Has anyone ordered one? Does it last longer? Or does it also fail after a while?

My cheap Chinese meter has a rocky solid Oled display While supposed to be brand name and supposed to be high quality, it fails and gives no option to service. I don't understand why people love to pay more for less

The above link isn't active anymore.
Does anyone have more details about the replacement display and where it can be obtained from?

Thanks!

I found the part at the link 1253B below. However it's not $20 as above, the part is listed for $109 with 3 in stock.

1253A link
https://www.keysight.com/my/partDetail/U1253-66518

1253B link
https://www.keysight.com/my/partDetail/U1253-66007

The pictures above are of a 1253A which Keysight lists the display replacement as "Obsolete". Does anyone know for sure if the 1253B display board will work on a 1253A?

I think the screen in the OP was meant as an alternative to the "official" replacement part from Keysight, one that doesn't come with a silly price just because Keysight are selling it.

I was talking about alternative display.

Does the schematic mean you re-built the entire display board?
Also, I'm still not sure what particular LCD you've used (I didn't seem to find it mentioned in the schematic).
