i mean i dont get it. the op asked for experience with rigol AWG, and then came the 5k AWG suggestion. did the OP consider to buy 5k AWG and then later decided to buy rigol?
You didn't miss anything, you just don't believe your eyes. The Rigol is a pretty fancy piece of kit, 100MHz, up to 1Gs/s 14-bit dual channel generator with specs pretty comparable to the Tek AFG3102, and about the same price. I see the Rigol here in the US for $5000-$5500. I think the Tek may have slightly less jitter, perhaps less memory; and can be had for a bit (but not much) less used on Ebay.
Personally, If I really had the need and the budget, and couldn't find something used, I'd go for the Tek. At least there ethernet/GPIB/SCPI stacks are likely well debugged since they've been around a long time. If simple UI stuff isn't perfect, I worry about what's hidden underneath.
