Dear Team,

I would like to extend my gratitude to the entire team of professionals who contributed to rewriting the test file and developing the patch for the Sousamain file. The DP932U-DP932A hack has certainly been an interesting challenge for me.

While it is relatively easy in some aspects, it proved difficult due to the necessity of working with three different computer systems.

For novice users, I highly recommend using WinSCP as it simplifies the process and eliminates the need to know Linux commands. Linux played an integral role in the process, and specifically, the Version 22 patch took longer than expected. This delay was due to my initial oversight in including the complete set of files required for the patching process when using bspatch.

Additionally, I had Version 16 and struggled with whether to update it or not. Thankfully, I decided to update, and the older version (2023.08.28) worked without issues. However, I am still uncertain if updating further to the 2024.11.12 version will cause me to lose all the benefits of the cool process that came along with it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Since the previous file was patched, you'll lose the benefits if you update, so will have to wait for someone to provide a new one.

I updated to 1.02.  The only impact I can see is that the Monitor function is now not available.

Just got a DP2031. ?IDN gives DP2A263700552, 00.01.01.00.22.

I WinSCP download and back up my SousaMain, then BSPatch with the SousaMain_patch_22_2031 from @sensille on Jan 5 2024.

Upload new patched SousaMain over WinSCP and Rigol Loading bar ends with a blank screen... I have to go replace old SousaMain to restore.

Tried a few times to no luck.

Can someone offer some advice and/or maybe try patching the newest 01.02 firmware (I still have .22, but perhaps revitalize this for newer models)

Just got a DP2031. ?IDN gives DP2A263700552, 00.01.01.00.22.

Upgrade to 0.00.22 first, there was a post a few pages back where their MD5 did not match. So either check the MD5 hash or just upgrade to the existing firmware on their website to be sure its the right version.

I'm sure I dl'ed the .22 FW posted here and upgraded to that version. There was only the one version posted so I can't try the other to compare unless there is a repo of old versions?

The current FW is 01.02 I think. Any changes I have to make to work vs the 01.01.00.22?

Did you copy the test.dll as well?
edit: you are right test.dll is only for DP900 model change

There is not much point in trying to get a newer version to work if the old version did not work for you.
Once its working you could then go back and look at the bspatch file and see if/where it needs adjustment.

An earlier post said in the 2031 model you didn't need to copy the test.dll. I also have test.dll and test2.dll?

Happy to take a look in the patch file, when I open it in a text editor it's just a mess of random characters. Did I miss some specific instruction on that part?

Installed the .22 from here:

But it seems that bspatch.exe doesn't do anything on Windows 11. I don't see any new file being created

md5 on SousaMain pre-patch is: c7ece55d12258cc63c3eaf9b75c45640 which doesn't match any stated. Recal I have the 2031 not 800/900


***edit: SousaMain MD5sum is now d5f765cb69320cdbd710b0aa38dacb29 which matches another users DP932E, they upgraded .22 to .22, not sure what there are two versions of .22 but okay.

After I use the same update my DP2031 shows up as a DP932E, and instead of HDAC and 10A options, my options window displays HIRES only (like a 932 would) hard reset fixes this issue and now HADC and 10A are back.

SousaMain patch does not create the correct MD5sum result however. I suspect I'm just working from the wrong FW version but where can I find the old releases?

Update:

So the MD5sum of the SousaMain changes between when I run the 0.22 update (and the scope thinks its a 932E) and after a power cycle when it now thinks it's a 2031 as it should.

I found the 0.22 update on WayBack Machine, and I can confirm it's the same one I used from this forum before.

So that leaves me at a bit of a loss as I can't start from the SousaMain with the correct MD5sum. I have opened both in a comparrison hex editor and there are only very few minor changes.

If I were to manually patch the SousaMain, what am I looking for and what do I change it to.

Alternatively, can someone just proivde the SousaMain that is working if the MD5sum is the same for all and they are all the same resulting file?

Hi, yes it works on DP932 J-R confirmed on his device so that's great! The SousaMain will only enable Monitor option for DP932. To get the other options you need test.dll from userli post from the very beginning of this post. He said it should be independent of the version. I hope this cleared the confusion.

I have a question for J-R since I don't have a DP932 did you have to copy test.dll to your DP932 after firmware upgrade? Or it wasn't affected by the update? and you just needed the monitor option?

The test.dll persists, there was no need to upload it again. No files are touched that user has renamed or uploaded during upgrade process that I see.

I can't recall exactly if I had to recopy any files after the update to 1.02.  I looked at the various date/time stamps (via ls and t/tc/tu) and I think I agree with thm_w that I didn't have to re-copy the test.dll file.

Does the 932E model have all the neccesary hardware, especially the digital-IO conectors, etc. for options of the change to a 932A model will be fully usable?

The back of the DP932E is identical to the DP932A, so the digital I/O connector is there.
However, the unit does not ship with the necessary plug, so you'll need to buy it separately:

Digital I/O connector is 5pin 3.81mm pitch

If you go back one page there is some discussion about calibration.  Essentially it seems you might be able to use the DP800 script but no one has tried it yet.

there is nothing in the menu, as in the 800 series, calibration is not possible for calibration and commands, a specific calibration procedure is needed
