I pulled the trigger on MHO98, thanks! Now, I need to return my DHO804 to Amazon, luckily I purchased it 10 days ago and used it only once

I just can't get used to this bling-bling look...

as if someone had replaced the original buttons with some from the 1970s.

The UI looks very similar to my DHO800/900 mod!!

Apologies for this question, but would I regret if I buy MHO98 over other models(934,954,984)? It seems like Batronix has a good price, and I don't want to miss it out. I'm just an electronic enthusiast, not doing crazy stuff. I know I don't need these, but just for fun :)

If you're going to use the logic probes then go ahead, it's cheaper than buying them separately.

Otherwise... it's a safe bet that it's going to be hackable so you can buy a 954 and spend $10 on some shiny knobs.

(OK, you won't get the bigger logo and shiny bezel if you do that...   ;) )

@Turing

Is the AC trigger just as broken in MHO98 as in DHO series ? (causing the the signal to visibly jitter ?)

Yes. AC and LFR trigger modes are still broken. Jitter is around 3ns peak to peak.

I just order the MHO98 and put my 924S online for sale, is only 2 months old but I don't care, my lab will be blinbling  :-DD

Why on earth did I have to discover that thread, that I overlooked all these days
Why on earth do I think, that I should get one too and sell my 900 - why...  :palm:

That's not surprising, as retailers won't get many* of these limited edition models.
Add to that the very reasonable price and the fact that all options and the logic analyzer are or were included...
A glimmer of hope for the others:
Rigol is unlikely to have used its own hardware for the MHO98, meaning that the 1 GHz can probably be hacked on the normal models, as can the memory.
But then you don't have that “beautiful” look.... ;)

There's always somebody who has to spoil it.

I wonder who's gonna get serial number number #1998. That would be even cooler than having #0001.

I will keep it sealed then and sell it for 10'000$ in an auction at Sothebys  :-DD
...but in the link of eurofox there appears to be an additional source - and the folks at Batronix are clever as well - they are restocking.

No.
When I first saw the '98 model, I had a flashback to when my father used to use something like that:

It would have been nice of Rigol to send me the MHO98 as a token of appreciation for using the new UI.  ;D

I came across this fact reading the thread about hacking the 800/900 and I was really irritated. I am not aware how many rules you "violated" creating the new UI (not judging it, nothing against your activities!). I followed the development and I like and appreciate your work. But it is a difference between a skilled coder doing that and a company, simply transferring your work into their commercial products without even contacting you. Ok - you can feel honourd by the fact, Rigol liked it, but it is not the way to go.
