Rigol Oscilloscope to Projector?
« on: January 14, 2015, 06:18:17 pm »
Hello! I just purchased a Rigol DS1052E 50 MHz oscilloscope for some basic work with classroom demonstrations of soundwaves. What is the best way to enlarge the display so a lecture hall audience can see the waveforms? Is there a means to directly connect this oscilloscope to a standard projector? Thanks for your help!

link it to a computer, use projector as monitor for said computer. you can also remote control via computer. it doesn't have any graphics out iirc so it's either that or record the screen with a camera.

As Fsck said the scope doesn't have any direct graphics output, you'd have to do USB to PC and use Ultrascope or some other control software, then connect the PC to the projector. The software isn't all that great, but it's usable.

So, it sounds like controlling it via USB port to computer is the way to go, then simply slave the computer's display to the projector? One more issue: I'm running a Mac. Is there any easy way to do this? (I can follow directions, but I am not a computer scientist or EE, so feel free to use basic terminology- haha.) Thanks again!

Laptop with external webcam pointed at the Rigol screen with video out going to the projector?
Until proven otherwise, all TED talk presenters should be considered as charismatic charlatans.

Some way the EE tool suppliers forced us EE's to stick to PC's anyway   |O  Think your best bet is to hook up a USB camera or a camera directly to the beamer.
