HP Memory Card
« on: April 04, 2020, 01:48:28 pm »
I have a HP 85700A 32K byte RAM card with the holder.  I got it to use with my HP 8591 spec analyzer, but it does not seem to work.  As you can see it has a label on it it "Demos Installed."  I put in a new CR2016 battery and formatted the card on the spec analyzer.  Anyone know if this is the correct card for a HP 8591A?  Thanks.

I don't know if the card works in the 8591s but if you reformatted it then it's now just a blank card with no software or data files installed.  I do know that some of the HP equipment has to have the correct option installed before they can read and write to the memory cards.

Have you looked up the HP 8591 manual and see what it says about using the memory cards? It should tell you everything that you need to know.

If you remove the battery all contents are lost.
Try storing something on the card.

Yes, HP 85700A (32k RAM) is the correct memory card type for the HP859x series. If the card is not recognized properly, check the battery. If formatting still fails leave it sitting overnight with the battery removed, insert the battery and try again.

Perhaps I should have said it: I have this card and it works well on my HP8594E.
