If it's a prestige problem
sometimes it's more complex, i remember i tried to sell few years ago "lot of" Hantek's DSO8202E to customer who saw my Hantek as i visited them. After i provided price, Controlling refused it "becaus of brand name", however they accepted the idea of re-branded Hantek (Extech MS6200), but finally refused it because Extech was twice the price of Hantek
. Finally they bought another A Brand product, however only "a few" instead of "a lot".
I bet they would today choose LeCroy instead of Siglent, just because of name.
Too right, a bet that's a sure thing
You're not alone on that, I've been through the same customer/s thrift
idiocracy sales ordeal,

wanting both prestige and cheap price
yet not going with a much cheaper re-badged
exact same internals item, with a longer warranty
even after I proved to them beyond doubt (photos and original receipt) and not sales procrastination prodding BS, that I also bought and used that same product
'because it did the same job and just fit my frugal budget' Another time
(well meaning idiot moment #2) I was willing to buy in with a customer on two units (one each) so I/we could get both for a good discount, on top of the already cheap price,
but brand name prestige killed that deal at the finish line after a phone call to their 'friend who knows about..'

so I went ahead and bought mine anyway, luckily the boss was cool to put the second unit on demo rather than send back (which I sold within the week and scored some commission

)
and after that gave up on 'favors' on the sales floor,
and that included friends and family who can be a real challenge sometimes,
recommend any dealings at your workplace to be avoided at all costs

Either send them elsewhere or get a colleague to deal with them, and walk away.
Some sales people here may know what I mean..
