Update on non working AD584LH voltage reference
« on: September 22, 2014, 08:49:51 pm »
Well, I contacted the seller and he is sending me a new unit, said to keep the old one. It was leaking and the battery swelled up when I put the 5VDC charger on it. Decided to cut out the old battery and see if I could run it off just the charger for now. Opened it up, cut the leads close to the battery and cleaned up the leakage inside. When I put it on the charger the blue led flashes and goes out. If I push the button the blue led comes on and all 4 red leds come on briefly and than go out. The unit still does not work. Anyway to salvage this thing?
Thank you

gazelle, you were right, without the battery in the circuit it will not operate. I found a battery from an old cell phone and hooked it up temporary. It started working. I'll have to look at ordering one of the batterys that you linked as this one is just a little to big to fit in the unit.
Thanks
