Victor 8045mini
« on: August 21, 2025, 10:10:25 pm »
Does anyone know this inexpensive little benchtop meter?
I can hardly find any information about it.
Is it new?

could be similar   less count than Owon XDM1241, or some shared designs

since we know  its rebranded under other names like Victor ...

i would wait some teardown  or tests, may have bugs

and i doubt some specs

and  Victor priced stuff are higher than the original ones ...   the Owon xdm1241 who offer 55 k counts is just 20$ more, the victor variant is 40$  more ??

i would choose  the XDM1241   for a few $ more, and we have a thread here about them

It is difficult to make such price comparisons internationally. For the US, absurd "shipping costs" are added to the Item in the link above.

For me (Switzerland), the Victor currently costs a total of CHF 56 shipped.
The Owon XDM1241 costs CHF 86.69.
In Switzerland, customs duties and VAT are added to prices above CHF 63.
This means that the Owon costs me CHF 114 in the end. That's twice the price of the Victor.
The Owon has more counts, but the same DC accuracy.
The Victor has AC up to 10kHz, according to the data sheet, the Owon only 1kHz.
I would find that more interesting.

But I'm just looking around to see what's available.
Actually, my ZT-225 for CHF 30 is better anyway...  :-DD

This is what I came across:

Has anyone bought this already and found out if it's USB protocol is identical to the OWON?

I am the author of rusty_meter https://github.com/markusdd/rusty_meter which is a better cross platform UI and I recently started adding Victor 86 B/C/D/E support.
These are read_only handheld meters that stream out their data, but this one clearly should use SCPI.

I was not able to find any document but I feel they probably copied Owon.

At the link below, the top download link contains PDF files with protocol info.
